Introducing Notify 2.0

header

It’s that time folks. As of today, Notify 2.0 free and pro have been released, so go check them out!

So, what’s new?

Pretty much everything. We’ve completely rewritten Notify 2.0, and added a crapton (Yes, that is a valid unit of measure) of new features. Hence, why it is now 2.0, and not 1.1. What sort of stuff has been added? What has been changed?

  • Redesigned preference pane. We’ve added quite a few more preferences so Notify is now more configurable. These include sound notifications, growl clickbacks, fetchback sizes, all sorts of good stuff.
  • Redesigned accounts preference pane. Since Notify 2.0 now support more than just Gmail, as well as more account options, we decided to redesign the accounts pane to make it cleaner and easier to understand
  • Refined user interface. We’ve refined the Notify UI to make it fit in better with the system. This includes Safari-style tabs, as well as Multitouch integration (swipe to change accounts).
  • Various small other changes including a redrawn icon, etc.
  • Added support for Google Apps, Mobile Me, and Rackspace Email.
  • Generic IMAP accounts (Notify Pro).
  • Added compose/reply functionality (Notify Pro).
  • Added mark as read & delete functionality (Notify Pro).
  • Added message preview (“Quicklook” if you will), so you don’t need to open your email client to read new messages (Notify Pro).
  • We’ll make you super cool and you’ll get all the chicks (or dudes). Seriously Notify is that awesome.

If you’d like to purchase Notify Pro, head on over to the Vibealicious Store. It’s $10 of concentrated win. If you want to try out Pro before you buy, no biggie! Every version comes with a 14 day trial, because we’re nice people.

Special thanks to all of the beta testers that helped us out over the past month – without you guys we’d surely still be bumbling around looking for bugs and such, not to mention have a few strange quirks that we simply didn’t notice.

We won’t be pushing Notify 2 via the in-app update stream for a few days, just in case major issues are found. If you run Notify already, and want to update to 2.0, you will need to download it manually, or wait a few days.

Full details, features, and screenshots of the release are available on the Notify product page.
